Welcome
to the Four Wind's Weavers organization. This is a non-profit organization
founded by Grandmother Grace Yellowhammer and the traditional
Navajo weavers from Teesto, Big Mountain, and other communities
in Arizona. Our goal is to help the traditional Navajo people and
other Native American people with assistance in establishing a connection
or relations with the people who care about preserving our cultural
heritage teachings. We want to educate the people about our ways
of life with respect to the land, our Mother Earth. We want to bridge
with the world and convey the message of traditional spiritual healing,
arts, agriculture and environment education awareness for all peoples.
We are a
grassroot traditional Dine'h (Navajo) people found in Arizona that
has been working together for over 30 years with the elders, youths,
and community resources. We will display many types and designs
of traditional Navajo rugs woven by the people. We are conveying
our message of cultural preservation to the global community.
The Navajo
rugs are best known by their world wide elegant and distinctive
Native American designs. The Navajo weavers create their own sacred
traditional designs that relates the People. Each design within the Navjao rug
carries many sacred symbolic
meanings. It involves the Navajo legend story, herding
the sheep, preparing the wool, weaving the wool on a loom, and designing
the Navajo Rug. This whole traditional process enables to weavers create an Authentic Navajo rug.
We welcome
donations to Four Wind's Weavers nonprofit organization. Every donation
helps sustains their traditional lifestyle and the weaving of traditional
Navajo rugs. The elders also requested that they can also keep your
Navajo rugs in balance if you were to have one. They appreciate
in restoring the traditional Navajo rugs to their natural beauty
in which it was originally intended for.
